 Part 2 Air date 12/17/09

I'm delighted to have Dana return for the last JTF podcast series of the year. I'm so impressed with her informative series of top-notch books that offer real-world guidance, tips, and strategies for successful online promotion.

The topic for this podcast series will be How to Create a New Blog or Upgrade and Revitalize Your Existing Blog. Because we have so much great information for you, we'll be splitting this series into three podcasts.

Part 1 – Planning for a Successful Blog and Setting It Up Aired 12/3/09
Part 2 – Creating Compelling Content and Adding Sidebar Features Aired 12/10
Part 3 – Promoting Your Blog and Profiting From It Aired 12/17

We'll talk about why blogging is such an important promotional tool and how to do it effectively. We'll also discuss choosing the right blogging platform and domain name, what to blog about, how to use blogging as a social marketing tool, how to increase your readership, and more.

While many of Dana's books are geared toward authors, the information and strategies are so sound that they can be applied to anyone who wants to create a successful online presence. I highly recommend her book Get Connected, which is written for a broader audience.

Dana Lynn Smith is a book marketing coach and author of The Savvy Book Marketer series. She has a degree in marketing and 15 years of publishing experience.

We also chat about her book of short stories and a candid look at how books come from our own life stories in a way that engages the reader.

In Part 2, we discuss more ways to market a fiction book including the role of online marketing as well as the emergence of e-books, virtual tours, and how giving "freebies" create buzz. We'll also chat more about poetry and the unique ways it can be promoted.

In this podcast series, you'll gain insights into who Carolyn is and discover how she has kept one of her books selling for over eight years!
